Write for us
We welcome pitches that help general readers understand how public policy is proposed, designed, delivered, communicated or reviewed. Bring a clear question and a useful angle, not a claim that every place works the same way.
What to pitch
Propose an original explainer, comparison, process account or carefully framed history of a policy idea or practice. Good pitches identify the reader's question, the central point and why the subject can be explained clearly without specialist advice.
What makes a strong pitch
Keep the scope focused, define specialist terms and flag where examples vary across jurisdictions. Tell us what material or sources you expect to draw on, disclose relevant interests and avoid pitches that depend on unverified claims or confidential information.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page, choosing the editorial question option and giving a short summary of the idea. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please do not send confidential material.
A policy is a process, not a headline
We follow the path from proposal to practice, explaining the choices along the way without pretending that one account fits every setting.
